When we go to spa, or for that matter any other place first thing we notice is hygiene and the cleanliness around. Providing a safe and sanitize place to clients should be one of the major concerns of the service provider. Beauty salons should understand that a small incautious step could lead to major infections to the client. By taking precautions and certain safety measures, you can neglect any infection on your part. As a client, you should be more cautious and aware of the safe and sanitary environment provided by the spa.
Keep your eyes open
The first reaction to everything we encounter matters a lot, especially when we go to any beauty salons or spas. Wherever you go make sure you give a proper look around. Ensure the equipments they use for pedicure and manicure are well washed and sanitized. Keep an eye on drains in wet room, they should be free from hair and other filth.
Double Dipping a complete no-no
If you see the therapist using a tool to take out something from a vessel, and using it on you or any other client, and again placing it back, speak out and protest. You should let the therapist know that double dipping is not acceptable at any cost. During waxing, you should make sure that the spatula is correctly used. If the same spatula is used throughout the procedure, than the risk of getting infection increases considerably. Be aware of the cleanliness of the sheet on which you are lying down.
Sterilizing is must
Hygiene and cleanliness should be the most essential part of all spas. To avoid major or even minor infections the equipments should be sterilized for the removal of germs. Make sure that the wraps you wear are completely sanitized or if going for hydrotherapy, the tub is fully sanitized or not.
Ask your queries
You should know what you are paying for! If you have any query or problem ask the therapist without any hesitation. Ask all the details about the spa treatment that you might want to go for. You can even ask them how the equipments are cleaned and what is the process involved in the sterilizing of implements.
