The name "Pimalai" is a derivation of the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit and it means-"a little patch of heaven." This is an extremely beautiful place, which takes an hour by boat from the mainland. It is a secluded resort on the island of Koh Lanta, which is very different from other crowded Thai beaches. Pimalai covers hundred acres of tropical rain forest and has access to over half a mile white sandy beach. This island and spa is an outcome of a corporate lawyer's (Anurat Tiyaphorn) vision who came across Kan Tiang Beach, while on his trip to Koh Lanta more than two decades back. The enchanting beauty of this beach captivated him and he purchased it. He decided to open a resort, which will preserve the nature of Koh Lanta.
