Cranwell House ~ More than Just a Spa

Cranwell House Skin and Beauty clinic, founded a year ago, is finding its eclectic mix of treatments the key to its success. While offering the traditional forms of spa treatments, Cranwell house is exploring modern cosmetic treatments to bring the latest technologies to their clients and to remain competitive in an ever-growing industry.Situated less than half an hour from Central London in Ingatestone Essex, Cranwell, House Skin and Beauty Clinic is providing some serious competition for its city centre counterparts. Having just celebrated its first anniversary, the clinic shows no signs of suffering from the current economic downturn.Managing director, Charlotte Nial, 25, said, "This industry is constantly changing and rapidly varies from year to year with regard to the new treatments and technology available. To my knowledge, the recession has certainly not affected the aesthetic beauty industry. For lots of people, beauty is something they can treat themselves too, especially at times like then when people tend to sacrifice other expensive things like holidays or a new car."Beyond this, however, the clinic's success is doubtless due in part to the fact it is offering something different to the host of clinics and spas in both Essex and London; in fact, it's offering two notable treatments that are hard to find in Cranwell House's counterparts.

Hydrafacial

The clinic is only the third clinic in the UK to offer the hydrafacial, a unique treatment that exfoliates dead skin cells and extracts impurities with a vacuum-based skin abrasion tip, while simultaneously bathing the healthy skin underneath with active serums that cleanse deeply, exfoliate thoroughly, hydrate completely and increase anti-oxidant levels in the skin.Already a hit stateside, where it can be found in exclusive locations including the Bellagio Resort & Spa and Caesars Palace Hotel, Las Vegas, this revolutionary skin resurfacing treatment offers a number of benefits that last for up to seven days. The hydrofacial is the only procedure that integrates cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration. Scientific studies show it improves skin quality effectively and safely by increasing its thickness, repairing the dermal matrix and delivering beneficial anti-oxidants. Clinical improvements include improved facial tone and texture, less dyschromia, also known as hyper pigmentation that appears as brown age spots, and fewer fine lines. There is no resulting redness, skin irritation or dryness from the facial, just younger, radiant looking skin.

Soprano XL

Another hard to find treatment offered at the clinic is Soprano XL, touted as the world's first virtually painless hair removal system. Soprano XL harnesses cutting-edge In-Motion laser technology, which generates pulses of infrared diode laser energy that heat the hair follicles gradually until they can no longer produce new hair. The benefits of Soprano XL over other permanent hair removal methods include:

  • Unique dual chill treatment tip that cools and calms skin, ensuring the most comfortable treatment possible.
  • Gentle in-motion sweeping technology eliminates the problem of patchy hair removal.
  • The deep dermal heating has been compared to a soothing hot stone massage, transforming the uncomfortable process of hair removal into an enjoyable one.
  • It is suitable for all areas of the body and requires no recovery time.
  • It delivers fast results in just a few short sessions.

Above and Beyond

Aside from hard to find treatments, Cranwell House also provides a wide range of treatments and services above and beyond the average spa. In addition, to skin analysis with a UV scanner, facials, body treatments, massage, manicures, pedicures, tanning, waxing, brow and lash treatments available, the clinic's in-house medical practitioners offer a wide range of non-surgical aesthetic treatments including botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, hyperhidrosis treatments, which are botox injections for excessive sweating, Dermaroller, Sculptra known as "The Liquid Facelift", sclerotherapy for vein removal and skin tag and milia removal. In addition, Cranwell House offers referral to top cosmetic surgeons for those interested in cosmetic surgery. For those that are more in need of relaxation, a range of lifestyle and wellness facilities are offered, including life coaching, sports therapy, Pilates, Shiatsu therapy, homeopathy and Thai therapies.

Philosophy

With such a variety of treatments to offer and the sheer size of Cranwell House, the clinic offers seven treatment rooms plus a relaxation area.Managing director, Nial, would be forgiven for taking a back seat and handling the business side of things, but she is also a practicing therapist. With a background in beauty therapy, she had worked for various salons, until she decided to follow her passion for skin health and taught for a skincare company, as well as running her own home-based clinic before opening Cranwell House. Her goal now is to educate people and to help people with skin and body solutions, and to expand her clinic profile in the near future."By our second anniversary this time next year, I hope to have an even larger clientele and to have brought on new laser treatments to help with a wide range of skin conditions," Nial said. "I also hope for the clinic to be very well known. I'd like to expand the team to include a dermatologist and a cosmetic surgeon, and to continue to help a wide range of people, whether it be for a particular skin condition, lifestyle goals or just to relax."
